The nude body of a woman was found packed in a plastic bag near Rezang La Chowk, in Palam Vihar. The body was discovered by a shopkeeper, who found the bag lying across his stall on the road, according to the police.
Gurgaon police have booked unknown persons for strangling a woman and then trying to destroy all evidence. The case was registered at Palam Vihar police station on Monday noon and no arrests have been made yet.
According to the police, the complainant, who runs a stall named Manoj near Rezang La Chowk found the body of a woman, packed in a plastic sack, lying on the road. He immediately called up the police and registered a complaint.
It was found that the victim had been strangled with the use of two neckties and her face had been disfigured, police officials, investigatiing the case, said.
Manoj said, “I immediately called up the police when I saw a dead body lying near my stall. I didn’t dare to open the bag and check, so I waited for the police to come. A team of police personnel was here in no time after the complaint was made.”
The victim looked like she was married and had several tattoos on her arms, the police revealed.
“The body was sent for a postmortem examination as soon as it was recovered from the bag. We are trying to find information about the deceased but the identification has not yet been done. An FIR has been lodged against unknown persons on the basis of Manoj’s complaint. We will soon find the culprit and take him into custody,” said Inspector Sandeep Kumar.
