The sector 55-56 CGHS dispensary will function from Friday, a senior health ministry official said. It will help reduce extra load on the only operational unit at Jacobpura. There are about 80,000 CGHS beneficiaries in Gurgaon.
"The dispensary will open on Friday. It will function for six hours from 7.30am to 1.30pm," said VP Singh, deputy secretary of ministry of health and family welfare.
Last month, health ministry officials had visited the dispensary and assured the beneficiaries that the medical facility would be functional by the first week of December. "RK Jain, director general of the ministry, had directed his juniors to finish the remaining work at the earliest," said Sanjeev Saxena, general secretary of CGHS Beneficiaries Welfare Association, Gurgaon.
The facilities that will be provided at this dispensary include consultation, check-ups, medicines and tests. "All these services are provided free of cost," said Saxena.
The state health ministry had given the built-up six-room dispensary to CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme) on a two-year lease, which was under renovation. Gurgaon has three CGHS dispensaries at Jacobpura, Sector 55-56 and Sector 5, which awaits a completion certificate from the Haryana Urban Development Authority.
