A 35-year-old woman was ‘hypnotised’ into giving her gold earrings, ring and cash to two men near Pataudi Chowk on Monday morning.

According to the police, Kaushilya Devi, got into a conversation with the men near an autorickshaw stand when she was going to Kadipur village from Pataudi Chowk. They asked her the way to Badshahpur village and told her they were new to the place.

While Devi was giving them directions, another youth joined the discussion. It was then that the first youth took out a white handkerchief and waved it in front of her. She was losing consciousnesses and they asked her to hand over her earrings, ring and Rs 15,000, the police said.

When the duo disappeared, Devi boarded another auto. On regaining consciousness, she realized that she was duped of her jewellery. Devi then called up her husband and lodged a police complaint. The police are trying to nab the duo.

ACP (crime) Rajesh Kumar said, “A similar case was reported earlier as well and we had arrested the accused. We have deployed our teams in civil dress to get hold of such miscreants.”
