A 27-year-old woman was rescued after being held captive for two days at a house in Sector 31. The joint operation was held by the Gurgaon police and members of the Dera Sacha Sauda late on Tuesday night.

Sources said one Rajbala Sharma, a resident of Basai village, had abducted the victim from Faridabad and had lodged her at a house in Gurgaon. She was being forced into prostitution, the police said.

This is the second time that the victim had been abducted. Four years ago, she was abducted from Faridabad and thereafter rescued by the Dera members. This time, the victim was saved as she somehow got hold of Sharma’s mobile and sent a message to the Dera people.

At the time of filing this report, the woman’s statement was being recorded at the Civil Lines police headquarters.
