A group of young people, including a girl, who partied at a beer bar on Sunday, landed in trouble after they entered into an altercation with the brewery staff over the quality of food and beverages served to them.
During the brawl, innuendos were used for the girl.
They were taken to the police station where the two parties agreed on a compromise. However, the youngsters again found themselves in trouble after they allegedly attempted to defame the pub on social media.
They are now under the scanner of the cyber crime cell for ‘defaming’ the brewery.
The cyber crime cell has initiated an investigation on a compliant filed by Lemp Brewpub and Kitchen at Star Mall, where the incident happened.
Police commissioner Alok Mittal has directed the cyber crime wing of the department to investigate the matter. “The brewery authorities approached me on Monday complaining that a group of youth had been maligning the name of their outlet by using objectionable language. They filed a complaint at the area police station, based on which I have directed the cyber crime wing to begin investigation,” he added.
A source close to the yongsters said that the issue had been “blown out of proportion”. He said that his friends were actually misbehaved with at Lemp. The bone of contention was the Hawaiian brunch, beer and the hefty bill.
