Birender's 'exit' not to affect Cong prospects: Hooda

Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that in a democracy, every leader had the right to join any party. Reply to questions of mediapersons at Shahbad, 18 km from here on Thursday, Hooda said that if Birender Singh  leaves the party, it would have little affect on the Congress prospects in the upcoming assembly elections. He said that the resignation of power minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav had been rejected.

Earlier,  he announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh for setting up of Shaheed Udham Singh memorial at Shahbad and a stadium for girls. Apart from this, he also announced a grant of Rs 10 crore under the Haryana Rural Development Fund for development of villages of Shahbad and Rs 5 crore for development of the city.

Hooda was addressing the gathering at the 'Dhanyawad Rally' organised by MLA Anil Dhantori at Shahbad on Thursday. He said that the 50-bed hospital would first be upgraded to 75-bed and then to 100-bed hospital.
