Congress MLA from Sohna Dharambir Singh, who had been spewing venom against the party for quite some time, remained non-committal on quitting the party at his much publicised rally here at Kirorimal park on Sunday.
However, he declared to resign from the post of chief parliamentary secretary and shun government security with immediate effect. He said that next course of action would be decided after consultation with a 27-member committee formed by him.
Aspirations were high among the political circles that Dharambir would resign from the party, especially after he had announced to take a 'big decision' in the Sunday rally, the day of culmination of his 'rath-yatra' after touring the Bhiwani parliamentary constituency.
Addressing the gathering in the saffron clad pandal, he said that he was upset with the party as the party brass decides candidates in five star hotels on the basis of money power, not performance. He said that he was giving up 'ghoda-gaari and padh' (official vehicle, security and post).
