Rejecting the Haryana government’s decision of filing chargesheets and asking the CBI to probe a case against senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka, a former union minister and senior Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader, ID Swami has demanded institution of a judicial commission for a “fair probe”.

Also a retired IAS officer from Haryana, Swami told Hindustan Times on Monday that the piling up of cases and a CBI inquiry against an officer would dampen the spirit of young bureaucrats in taking their duties uprightly.

Clarifying that he was not judgmental in charges leveled against Khemka, Swami said that time-bound investigation by a judicial officer would give a healthy signal to the bureaucracy that the state machinery was not involved in witch-hunting.
