The Centre has started taking steps to implement the MS Swaminathan Commission report and National Irrigation Scheme, said union minister of state for agriculture Sanjeev Kumar Balyan while addressing a gathering in Meham segment of the district.

Urging people to vote for the saffron party candidates in the assembly polls, the minister said that people of Haryana should vote out the Congress government taking into account the changing political scenario.

He said the Centre was mulling to open a horticulture university in the state. Party's spokesperson Capt Abhimanyu said chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his MP son Deepender had announced to set up an airport near Meham, but nothing had been done to achieve that.
