The problem: Inverted hair is a condition where hair grows sideways or back into the skin. It commonly appears in shaved, waxed, plucked areas of the body. Usually people with dry skin suffer from this problem. The broken hair inside the skin with sharp tips can lead to inflammation, rash, itching or skin and infection.
Solution: Try traditional methods like putting warm washcloth over inverted hair, shaving in the opposite direction, or exfoliating with scrubs. The idea is to keep the skin lubricated. Else, if inverted hair becomes a chronic problem, it’s worth going for a permanent hair removal procedure.
Warning: Before deciding on any treatment its advisable to take the opinion of your dermatologist. Always seek professional advice as the severity of the problem also depends on the texture of the skin.
Home remedies: Apply tree tea oil mixed with aloe vera gel, after shaving or raw milk to make the hair softer. Else apply witch hazel after shaving or
waxing to prevent bacteria to enter the open pores.
