1. Eat right:
Eat lots of probiotics such as probiotic yogurts to keep and maintain normal vaginal flora.
2. Maintain hygiene:
Always wipe from front to back after urination or bowel movement. Improper wiping easily spreads bacteria to the vagina and may lead to vaginal discharge and infection.
3. What you wear matters, even underneath:
Wear cotton panties as natural fabrics absorb moisture and keep the area dry. Silk and synthetics are fancy alright, but might cause problems if worn too often.
4. Have safe sex:
Many women contract vaginal infections from their sex partners. Hence, it is very important to ensure that the partner is also infection-free. Clean thoroughly after sexual intercourse.
5. Being too sweet doesn’t pay:
Women with medical conditions such as diabetes need to keep their sugar level in control. Reducing the quantity of sugar in diet also helps in controlling infections.
