Get fresh air: Resolve to step out on the balcony for fresh air before checking your mail first thing in the morning. Find ways to engage in entertainment that does not involve a gadget. Watch a live performance, go out for a walk.
Meet friends: Meet people more often in person than on the web, whether they are friends, business clients or cousins. This will automatically keep you off technological over-indulgence.
Make a chart: Keep a tab on what makes you most tired — is it texting on the cellphone? Number crunching on the desktop? Overdoing the iPod? Set a time aside from it. Limit yourself to a certain number of texts a day, take at least a 10-minute break from the office computer every hour. You will be amazed at the results.
Pamper yourself: Get a full body massage, with special attention to your digits and eyes. It soothes the technologically active parts of the body.
No gadgets at all: Declare one day in the month totally tech-free. Do the math, pick up the pen instead of hitting the keys, sing instead of picking up the iPod.
