SPF protection: The priority during summers is products with SPF for sun protection. Hence, a compact should have a minimum SPF level to prevent your skin from harmful UVA & UVB rays.
Summer-friendly: Summers usually causes havoc to the skin. To avoid break-outs and allergies opt for compacts that are oil free, light weight and mild on the skin. Look out for Dermatology tested and hypoallergenic products that are perfect for sensitive skin.
For fresh looks: Compacts are of two types: loose powder compacts and pressed powder. The latter is easier to carry and offers easy application as one may not know how much loose powder to apply, and it could spill as well. Choose a matt finish compact for the summers to achieve a oil-free and naturally fresh look.
Water resistant compact: Sweating is very common during summers. Therefore, pick a long lasting and water resistant compact that does not need constant touch-ups and will provide coverage for a longer period. One must also change the applicator a little more often during summers as it tends to gather oil and may lead to aggravated skin conditions.
Keep the tan away: During summer months your skin gets tanned and hence you may have to change your compact to a darker shade than before. Also a compact with Vitamin C and E visibly brightens it and prevents from further darkening is an added bonus.
