Can someone indulge in masturbation even after marriage?
Masturbation can be continued for as long as one derives sexual pleasure from the act. There are no ill effects and reports of couples indulging in mutual masturbation are plenty. If, however, you are stuck with masturbation, to the exclusion of intercourse, rush to your family doctor and seek help.

My report states that my sperm is less motile. Is it related with masturbation?
The best person to solve your queries will be your doctor. The decreased sperm motility may be due to myriads of reasons. Local as well as systemic aetiologies need to be evaluated.Systemic diseases like cancer or hormonal disturbances or autoimmune conditions need to be evaluated by a specialist.

Local injuries, infections, tumours need to be excluded. Ruling out varicocele is a must. At times, reduced sperm motility may cause problems with fertilisation of the female ovum. With correction of the cause, the condition may be reversed. Masturbation has definitely no link with your problems. Enjoy it as long as you like.

My friend is three months pregnant. She has been prescribed folvite tablets and multivitamins. Will she and the baby be okay on consumption of these tablets?
Pregnant women are usually prescribed a combination of iron and folic acid tablets. Majority of Indian woman are anaemic and hence the external supplementation is highly recommended. Pregnancy is a period of high iron consumption. Remember that the fetus gets nutrition from the mother.

Thus, the health of the mother-to-be is very important. Many vegetarian diets may be poor in vitamins. Hence, in addition to the regular balanced diet, external supplementation is required. Scientifically, it has been proven that the folic acid supplementation during pregnancy reduces the risk of neural tube defects in the baby. There are no adverse effects of these tablets on the fetus. Request her to trust her gynaecologist.
