1 Seal the moisture:

Choose a moisturiser with a balance of lipids — free fatty acids, cholesterol, and ceramides. Balanced skin care products help to repair cracks in the epidermal barrier that contribute to inflammation and dehydration.

2 Use sunscreen:

Minimising the oxidative stress generated by UV exposure is critical for the health of the skin. UV damage begins when the skin tans.

3 Shower smartly:

Use warm but not hot water. Apply a moisturiser directly after a shower, before the skin is completely dry.

4 Exfoliate at night:

When exfoliating, do so at night to avoid any added risk of immediate post-scrub sun sensitivity and follow immediately with a restorative moisturiser.

5 Differentiate products:

Invest in separate products for the body and face. Often the ingredients in body creams are formulated differently than those for the face.
