This recipe is packed with all the right infection-fighting nutrients:
3 ripe tomatoes, chopped
1½ tsp ginger
1½ cups water
1 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp oil
1 tsp fine chopped garlic
1 tsp salt
3 black peppercorns
3 bay leaves
1 tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp pimpli powder (available at all Ayurvedic stores)
2 tsp raw sugar
Blend tomatoes, ginger and water into a fine paste in a food processor.
Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan; add chopped garlic, pepper corns, bay leaves and cardamom powder.
When the garlic turns golden brown in colour, add the tomato mixture. Add 2 cups of water and allow it to boil for 2-3 minutes.
Season it with black pepper powder, salt, pimpli powder and raw sugar. Drink it hot for maximum benefits.
