Here's some good news for booze lovers: Red wine can halt the ageing process - but the bottles of wine should be 100. That's the conclusion of a study by scientists at Gothenberg University in Sweden.

That's the conclusion of a study by scientists at Gothenberg University in Sweden, reports The Daily Express.
The study found that the chemical resveratrol, contained in wine, can kill bad cells which contribute to ageing. However, on the downside, the alcohol would kill you more quickly.

To reach the conclusion, boffins studied the properties of resveratrol. The research has focused on yeast where some cells were found to discard bad proteins.
Professor Thomas Nystrom said: "Resveratrol is found in red wine and other products and it can control the rates of ageing. But you would have to drink a lot of wine for it to have an effect, probably between 15 and 100 bottles a day, more than you could cope with."
