The fourth Spidey movie that released last Friday has been creating quite a buzz. This time, the movie took a reboot route with changing Peter Parker, the Spiderman or the main character in the movie. In the last three movies, Tobey Maguire played the lead and in this one, the 28 year old Andrew Garfield returns as the much loved superhero. In this movie, Parker undertakes a quest to find his origin and unravel the truth about his parents. The movie stars actors like Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors. The movie has been in shot in the 3D format and promises never-seen-before stunts. The movie has garnered rave reviews and the new director, Marc Webb is being termed successful in continuing the Spidey legacy.
Ice Age: Continental Drift
The animation blockbuster is ready to captivate you for the fourth time on July 13 this year. Directed by Carlos Saldanha and produced in Digital 3D format, this movie will be a visual treat. The movie will complete ten years of the Ice Age series and will have Manny(voiced by Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo) and Diego( voiced by Dennis Leary) on an adventure, where Sid reunites with his long lost family and Diego finds his love interest, Shira (voiced by Jennifer Lopez).The Dark Knight Rises
Considered as a contemporary great in cinema, Christopher Nolan returns with the third and the final swing of the famed Batman series with this flick. Christian Bale, our very own Bruce Wayne or the Batman is starring as the lead with Michael Caine, and is joined by Tom Hardy, Bane, who provides a villain to the hero Batman is. Anne Hathway, Selina Kyle is playing Bane's associate in this instalment. The starcast only becomes fancier with the likes of Gary Oldman and Marion Cotillard starring in the film. With the catch-line of 'A Fire Will Rise', this legend ends on your screen on July 20th. Less than three weeks and it shall be known if Gotham City can be saved once more.
The twenty third and the latest 007 offering, Skyfall, is all set to hit your screens on November 9th this year. With Daniel Craig returning as James Bond, Judi Dench coming back as M and a new entrant in the series Javier Bardem who plays the villain Raoul Silva, this movies definitely plans to set your heart racing. The plot is that M is haunted by her past and when it slips out of hand, she calls upon the world's best secret service agent 007 to her rescue. Currently being shot in Turkey, this movie will see Daniel Craig playing Bond for the third time. The movie is one of the most anticipated releases of the year and will show if Bond can still work his magic, and, his license to kill.
Probably the last word in American action spy movies, the Bourne franchise comes out with its fourth leg. A reboot of the first three in the Bourne series- based loosely on Robert Ludlum's novels, this movie, directed by Tony Gilroy and based on a later novel written by Eric Van Lustbader , sees the protagonist Jason Bourne to be absent from the scene and brings forth a new agent Aaron Cross, played by Jeremy Renner. The movie also sees the entry of a new villain CIA agent Byer, played by Edward Norton and Stephanie Snyder, portrayed by Rachel Weisz. The plot is that CIA decides to shut down Operation Outcome and two of its key members- Renner as the Outcome Agent Cross and Snyder (Weisz) who has helped creating these agents have to escape before the antagonist Agent Byer(Norton) kills them. The forte of the Bourne series lies in the depiction of chase. With excellent stunts, perfect pace and well-scripted drama, this series has innumerable takers. August 10, 2012 shall decide the fate of this one.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2
With the first part grossing 705 million dollars worldwide, the second part cannot be left behind. Yes, the vampires and the werewolves are back. The Twilight Saga returns with the second part of Breaking Dawn. Retaining the blockbuster startcast trio of Kirsten Stewart, Robert Pattison and Taylor Lautner, the movie sees the birth of Renesmee Cullen, daughter of Edward(Pattison) and Bella (Stewart). Misperceiving Renesmee as an immortal child, a fellow vampire Irina informs the Volturi which has outlawed such children. Hence, the Volturi is now set to destroy the child, Renesmee and her parents, Bella and Edward. The movie will see this escape and proving that Renesmee is not an immortal child. Releasing on November 16 this year, this movie is said to break the records of all the previous Twilight movies. We are all eyes and ears!
The fantasy biggie is back! On December 14 , 2012, Peter Jackson will be ready to take us to a land of fantasy, to a land of JRR Tolkein, to a land of Bilbo, Gandalf and Gollum. This movie, to be relaeased in two parts- will be a prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Bilbo Baggins, played by the new-to-the-series Martin Freeman (who has also starred as Watson of the BBC's Sherlock series) is a hobbit who is whizzed into reclaiming the Dwarf kingdom of Erebor from the dangerous dragon, Smaug. Conviced by Gandalf, Bilbo joins the army of thriteen dwarfes led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield- played by Richard Armitage. It is this jourey of the hobbit that builds up the plot of this movie, called The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. LOTR has a gigantic following and the fantasy fans cannot wait for this to be released, and then followed by the next part in line, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, to be released on December 13, 2012.
