Adam Sandler has set a new record by winning 11 Razzie nominations this year for his role as the actor, producer and writer on Jack and Jill, Just Go with It and Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star.

The previous record for the most nominations accrued by an individual in a single year was held by Eddie Murphy for Norbit - he won five nods at the awards which recognise the worst movies in a year.

Sandler's nominations at the The 32nd Annual Razzie Awards include worst actor for both Jack and Jill and Just Go with It — and worst actress for Jack and Jill, in which he plays a family man and his own twin sister.

Jack & Jill is also leading the pack for Worst Picture, receiving 12 nods in all, including Katie Holmes as Worst Supporting Actress, Al Pacino nabbing his third Razzie nod for playing himself as being madly in love with Sandler's female twin.

Also selected as Worst Picture nominees for 2011 are Bucky Larson: Born to be a star, New Year's Eve, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I.

Transformers has won a total of nine nominations and Breaking Dawn comes right behind with eight.

For the first time in Razzie history, all five nominated Worst Pictures are also vying for Worst Director, Worst Screenplay and Worst Screen Ensemble.

For worst actor, Sandler is up against Bucky Larson star Nick Swardson, Russell Brand for Arthur, Nicolas Cage for Drive Angry, Season of the Witch and Trespass and Taylor Lautner for Abduction and Breaking Dawn.

In the Worst actress category, Sandler is joined by Martin Lawrence in Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son. Also nominated were Sarah Palin for her documentary The Undefeated, Sarah Jessica Parker for I Don't Know How She Does It and New Year's Eve and Kristen Stewart for Breaking Dawn.

Razzie nominations were released on the eve of the Oscars. Winners will be announced on April Fool's Day.
