Actor and comedian Steve Martin's novel An Object of Beauty will be adapted on film and star Amy Adams (The Fighter, Julie & Julia) in the lead role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows Lacey Yeager, a Sotheby's trained art entrepreneur, who sleeps and schemes her way to the top of the New York art world to open her own gallery.
Martin is also an art collector and recently was victim of a forgery. His novella Shopgirl was also made into a film, starring Claire Danes (Homeland) and Jason Schwartzman (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World).
Adams will star in Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master with Philip Seymour Hoffman, Walter Salles's On The Road with Kristen Stewart, and the next Superman film Man Of Steel.
She also joins Clint Eastwood in the love story Trouble with the Curve by Spike Jonze (Where the Wild Things Are).
