Ashley Cole has been signed up for a new football-based film called Played alongside actor Danny Dyer. The 30-year-old English footballer is set to appear as himself in the new flick.

The Chelsea defender will appear with West Ham boss Sam Allardyce and Lille ace Joe Cole who are also reportedly involved in cameo roles.

According to the Sun, the film will be centred on the gripping story of an underhand football agent played by Dyer. Played will be the first time for the soccer star in front of the cameras.

It is reported that his estranged wife Cheryl Cole will be financially supporting his latest screen venture. “The plot follows a football agent and how he goes about his business while living the Premier League lifestyle,” the Daily Mail quoted a source as telling the Sun.

“It features a few dodgy scenarios including underhand transfers and sleeping around with different women. “They want it to be as authentic as possible, so that’s why they were keen to include player and manager cameos.

“The script is done and auditions have already started,” the source added.
