Ben Affleck and his wife of 10 years, Jennifer Garner have reportedly called it quits.
The parents of three -- Violet (9), Seraphina (6), and Samuel (3), are “already separated”, according to a report in OK! Magazine. It added that the couple will take the next step to end their relationship sooner rather than later.
“Ben wants the official statement to come out a few weeks before their 10th anniversary June 29, which he hopes will give enough time for the news to die down by the time he has to promote Batman v Superman and the other movies he has coming out next year,” the magazine reported, quoting a source.
A close friend of the Garner’s said, “Often, when Ben and Jen have a problem, they just agree to ride it out and be miserable together until they can get some time apart. Jennifer has close friends who think that she and Ben are a horrible fit, despite how much he loves being a father to those kids.”
Affleck has been spending a lot of time apart filming Batman v Superman, which took a toll on his marriage. He also spent a lot of time playing high-stakes poker in Las Vegas, abandoning his duties as a father. “Jen and Ben have had many fights this year over his increased gambling,” the insider said.
Jennifer Garner’s sister’s neighbour told OK!, “This is a very difficult time for her. Everyone needs to stop talking about it.”
In another report, Radar Online quoted a friend: ‘'Jennifer has close friends who think that she and Ben are a horrible fit, despite how much he loves being a father to those kids. Jen has actually been preparing herself emotionally for this divorce for some time.
'She sees a therapist to learn how to cope with the divorce, and how to deal with the kids after they split. She’ll take custody of them.'
Affleck and Garner met during filming of Daredevil in 2002 and married in 2005.
