The British actor starred as John Connor in McG's sci-fi sequel, which had a mixed reaction and performed poorly at the box office compared to its predecessors, reported Digital Spy.

"I wish them better luck than we had. It didn't work for us, it was a shame but everything was against us.

"I didn't talk to anyone about it, I knew that we gave it a shot. I know the reasons for that, but wisdom is sometimes knowing when to walk away. I wish them all the best - I hope it does well," he said.

Meanwhile, Bale has admitted that he had doubts about working with the Charlie's Angels director, and that he will never work with him again.

"He goes, 'Give me a chance. Everyone needs to evolve, and I need to turn over a new leaf. And please, you must've been in this position before yourself, when someone has taken a leap of faith on you' - which I have - 'Please do that for me now; I promise you, I'm ready for it'," he had said.
