Courteney Cox is all set to send some shivers down the spine. As she makes a comeback in slasher movie Scream 4, which releases worldwide on April 15, the actor promises that the movie will pack in as many scares as the original Scream, which was made 10 years ago. “This fourth film is sort of bringing to life the first one, with the new cast coming along. It was really interesting to see because they’re kind of reflections of us when we first got there”, she says.
Courteney plays the character of Gale Weathers, a journalist-turned-author who is going through a major writer’s block. The character, she says, has matured over the series. “ I am reprising my role as Gale Weathers, however this time around she has a different perspective on the character. She wants fame. She just wants to get more and more involved so she can write a book and become more famous. It’s fun to play someone who is so selfish,” she adds.
In India, the film will release in English, Hindi , Tamil and Telugu. The actor reveals that she would love to visit India in the near future. “I have heard a lot about Indian cinema and I am longing to see my first Bollywood film,” she days. With India being on top of the mind for the west, ask her if she would like to work in an Indian movie and she says. “Sure. You never know, if a good offer comes along”.
Directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, who previously wrote Scream and Scream 2, this fourth installment in the series also stars Courteney’s ex-husband David Arquette. The duo, along with Neve Campbell are the only cast members to return from the previous films of the series. This time, the movie will also star actors Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere.
