Daisy Ridley is bagging one great project after another and this time she has signed for the title role in Ophelia . The movie will be a version of Hamlet from his lover’s perspective where Naomi Watts will play Queen Gertrude.
The film is adapted from Lisa Klein’s young adult novel by the same name, inspired by William Shakespeare’s classic.

While the original story follows Hamlet, the Danish Prince, seeking revenge on his uncle, Claudius, who murdered his father, this new take focuses on Ophelia, the daughter of Claudius’ chief advisor who falls for Hamlet, reported Ace Showbiz.
“Set in the 14th century but spoken in a contemporary voice, Ophelia will put the titular character center stage,” producer Daniel Bobker said.
