Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he would never have been Harry Potter if his parents had their way as they were concerned about impact the part would have on him.

The 24-year-old English actor's parents, Marcia Gresham and Alan Radcliffe, didn't want him getting the part and had said no when he was asked to audition, and also hid the offer from him, the Mirror reported.

The, Horns' star, confirmed that he almost lost the role as his mother had tried to talk him out of it as they hadn't had great experiences as actors.

The reason his parents were apprehensive was because the deal mentioned that he had to sign on for seven films which were to be shot in America and it would have been be too big a shift to his life.
