Blondie star Debbie Harry has given her seal of approval to actress Malin Akerman to portray her on the big screen in upcoming film CBGB.
The 66-year-old veteran rocker says she is delighted with Akerman's casting, alongside Taylor Hawkins, Sting's actress daughter Mickey Sumner and Alan Rickman as the New York venue boss, reported New York Post.
"I haven't met her yet, but I think she is fabulous. I hope she has a lot of fun doing it. I hope she has more fun than I had (at the time)," Harry said.
She also said that she is not involved with the project, but is open to consulting on the film.
"They haven't offered me any money, so we'll see."
Akerman will portray the 66-year-old Call Me singer in the Hilly Kristal biopic and she recently said that it's a role she thought she could only dream of playing.
"I love Debbie Harry, and Blondie. It's so funny, we have in our bathroom - I did a whole collage on the wall of just musicians that my husband and I love - because our bathroom sucks and I had to make it look nice, so I have five pictures of Debbie Harry in that collage. It's amazing; it's like a vision board almost," she said.
