Sure, the Oscars come every year but this time, the matter is different. Our homegirl Priyanka Chopra will be presenting an award and everyone’s favourite, Leonardo DiCaprio is again in the race for the Best Actor trophy and the chances of him winning have never been higher.

But these are not the only reasons for you to watch The Academy Awards on early Monday morning which will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Amid the #Oscarssowhite controversy, everyone is looking forward to Chris Rock hosting the award night. Will he surprise or shock? Hopefully the former.

Chris Rock, the outspoken black comedian who is expected to take aim at a Hollywood diversity crisis that produced an all-white acting nominee line-up for the second year running.

“I think Chris Rock will address it head on, which is exactly what the show and the Academy needs,” said Variety awards editor Tim Gray.

Director Spike Lee and actor Will Smith have shunned the Academy Award ceremony, although a wider Oscar boycott largely failed to gather steam with Hollywood A-listers.

Meanwhile, so many Priyanka Chopra fans are rooting for her at home. Everyone seems to be eagerly waiting to see what she will wear for the big night.

While she has not hinted at her choice of outfit, Priyanka tweeted about the first round of fittings with her stylist, Sophia Banks.

“We have tried many dresses (for Priyanka) and have worked on looks with many designers. She wants to look amazing at the Oscars Red Carpet, and we tried on a lot of options to find the best one. We’ve spent a lot of time choosing the perfect option,” said Sophia.

This could also be the year when Leonardo DiCaprio finally wins the award in Bes Actor Category after three misses. He has been nominated for Alejando G Innaritu movie The Revenant.
