Dungeons & Dragons became popular through the late 1970s and 1980s as a board game. A film starring Jeremy Irons, Thora Birch, Bruce Payne and Marlon Wayans was also released to lukewarm reception in 2000.
The film revolves around a warrior and his band of mystical creatures as they embark on a dangerous journey to find a fictitious treasure.
The upcoming reboot will be directed by Rob Letterman. David Leslie Johnson will pen the script.
Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis, Sweetpea Entertainment’s Courtney Solomon and Allan Zeman as well as Roy Lee will produce the project.
