British actor Ralph Fiennes, 48, who was last seen on screen as Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter film series, will direct and star in the movie adaptation of the bestselling book, White Mughals.

“Ralph Fiennes, the Dark Lord himself, to direct and star in the movie version of White Mughals,” wrote William Dalrymple, the author of the historical book, on Facebook on Wednesday.

White Mughals is based on the warm relations that existed between the British and some Indians in the 18th and early 19th century, when one in three British men in India was married to an Indian woman.

The book was written in 2002, and was Dalrymple’s fifth major work as an author.
