Sam Taylor Johnson's Fifty Shades of Grey has received an 18 and over certificate by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), it has been revealed.
The film that stars Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele is the second directorial venture of Johnson after her debut film Nowhere Boy and is all set to hit the theatres in mid- February, the BBC reported.
Johnson told the Independent that the sex scenes are pretty intense, so she was sure that people are going to feel aroused but she has seen them so many times that she tends to forget. The film reportedly has 20 minutes of sex scenes, a fact that makes it the first mainstream film in a decade to achieve this distinction.
Meanwhile, director Johnson revealed that the book's most infamous tampon scene will not make the final cut.
