The second North American trailer for Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin was released October 17, with more action and a new poster.
The Adventures of Tintin, directed by Steven Spielberg and co-produced with Peter Jackson, is based on the beloved comic book series by Belgium's Georges Rémi, who wrote as Hergé.
This adaptation combines three stories in the series, including The Secret of the Unicorn, with elements of mystery and humor.
The motion-capture animated film opens like a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean, with footage providing the historical set up: a ship sinks at sea with a secret cargo. But on discovering the model of the ship and a key to unlock the mystery, Tintin takes off for a good story.
After the intrepid boy reporter meets up with Captain Haddock, he and his dog Snowy head off on high adventure in search of the treasure. But another wants the buried goods too and the action heats up with chases across land and water on planes and motorcycles to narrow escape.
Starring Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) as the voice of Tintin, the film also features the voices of Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings), Simon Pegg (Paul) and Daniel Craig (Quantum of Solace).
The family-friendly fantasy releases October 26-28 in France, the UK, Germany, Russia and European and Scandinavian countries, followed in November by Singapore, India and a dozen other markets, December 1 in Japan, and December 21 in North America for the Christmas holiday.
