  • A sneak peek at the Batmobile.

After revealing Henry Cavill as Clark Kent a few days ago, Warner Bros has revealed the first official photo of the Kryptonian in costume for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The setting is much darker than what we are used to in Superman flicks. In fact, it appears director Zack Snyder has put Superman in the caped crusader's backyard, Gotham. And it is raining - hard.

Earlier, Snyder has shared the image of a rather morose Batman in costume and the setting was equally dark. The image had got mixed reactions and inspired many memes and jokes on #sadBatman.

Will a rain-soaked Superman get similar snarky reactions?

This film is the first on-screen meeting of the two superheroes and much has been written about the 'v' in the title. As Snyder told a magazine, the v as opposed to vs has been designed "to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way."

The film will also feature Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa).

The Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luthor in the film. Three other villains may feature in the film including serial killer Victor Zsasz, Lexcorp's PR executive Morgan Edge, and deadly assassin David Cain.

However, The Joker is unlikely to feature in the film. Dawn of Justice is slated to release in the US on May 6, 2016.
