George RR Martin is considering adapting his book series Game of Thrones, which is already a hit as television series on HBO, for the big screen.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the author mentioned the possibility of the movie, saying that it all depends on how long the main series runs.

The books get bigger and bigger and it might need a feature to tie things up, something with a budget, like $100 million for two hours, he added.

Martin was speaking after the fourth season premiere, a gala red carpet event held in New York at the iconic Lincoln Center.
He was joined at the event by HBO executives, and the show's cast, including Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Jack Gleeson, Aiden Gillen, Peter Dinklage and John Bradley, and one of those "real big" dragons, granted it was only a replica, on the red carpet.

The idea of Game of Thrones movie will serve as breather for fans who were disheartened after writers David Benioff and Dan Weiss said the TV series will end in seven seasons.
