Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine #OneLastTime and he wants to know your ideas on it. The actor teased fans with the concept art from the upcoming standalone Wolverine film, where for some reason he is flipping us all with his adamantium claw, and asks what you wanted to see in the film.
The third Wolverine film is going to be Jackman's last as the mutant character, and he has reiterated this time and again. The film is being directed by James Mangold, who also helmed Wolverine. Jackman wants to know what the fans "want to see happen," and he wants them to tweet about it in "50 words or less." He claims that he'll try and "read as many as [he] can." Is he outsourcing the story? We hope not.
My last time putting on the claws. What do you want to see happen? 50 words or less. I'll read as many as I can. pic.twitter.com/ksA1Gii5tf— Hugh Jackman (@RealHughJackman) July 27, 2015
While the film is still in the scripting stage, Jackman's off-hand comment at San Diego Comic-Con has led to the buzz that the film may be based on Old Man Logan comic book arc. The comic books, developed by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, show Wolverine as a broken old man who refuses to fight anybody till he is forced by the paucity of funds to accompany Hawkeye on a secret mission.
The film is slated to release on March 3, 2017, following the 2016 X-Men universe films Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse and Gambit, arriving February 15, May 27 and October 7, respectively. Jackman has starred in every X-Men film made after Bryan Singer's break-out X-Men in 2000.
