X-Men director Bryan Singer and producer Simon Kinberg say recasting Wolverine in the future seems to be kind of impossible once Hugh Jackman hangs up his claws.
Actor Hugh Jackman, who has been playing the clawed mutant since 1999, expressed that he won’t be back to reprise his role as Wolverine after The Wolverine 3 and X-Men Apocalypse.
The duo said that they couldn’t imagine that the iconic character would be played by someone other than Jackman, 47, reported Digital Spy.
My last time putting on the claws. What do you want to see happen? 50 words or less. I'll read as many as I can. pic.twitter.com/ksA1Gii5tf— Hugh Jackman (@RealHughJackman) July 27, 2015
“I do think you would want to figure out how to tell more Wolverine stories. So either we would try to entice Hugh to come back and eat more chicken and work out for a few months, or we would have to figure out a creative way to move forward.
“Honestly, I can’t imagine anybody else playing the part, and there’s not too many characters I can say that for,” Kinberg said.
