I don’t think of competing: George Clooney

He is ruling the present awards season as the current favourite to sweep all awards in the Best Actor category. Even though his Golden Globe win has now been followed by an Oscar nomination, actor-filmmaker, George Clooney is not bothered.

He is ruling the present awards season as the current favourite to sweep all awards in the Best Actor category. Even though his Golden Globe win has now been followed by an Oscar nomination, actor-filmmaker, George Clooney is not bothered.



“I think that it’s a very odd thing to think of competition when you’re talking about what I still consider art. I don’t think of competing with actors or filmmakers at all. I don’t worry about competition because I don’t think of it that way,” says Clooney who has bagged trophies and accolades for his role in Alexander Payne’s movie, The Descendants.



“I grew up doing some really terrible jobs. I sold ladies shoes and I was a journeyman actor for 12 or 13 years. I had done tons of TV series. Then all of a sudden I was given the opportunity to do the first Dreamworks film or be Batman. When Out Of Sight came, I decided that I will concentrate on screenplay and direction. And now, I’m less and less interested in seeing myself on screen,” he says.
