I don’t want to be a man-eating seductress: Aditi Rao Hydari
"If with my innocent face, I can play varied roles, why will I change anything? I don’t want to be a man-eating seductress. A kissing scene or wearing a bikini doesn’t change your image," says the actresshollywood Updated: Oct 16, 2013 17:21 IST
From playing gentle Rama bua in Delhi-6 to playing a glam character in Akshay Kumar-starrer Boss, actor Aditi Rao Hydari has slowly but steadily managed to make her mark in the industry. Though the 34-year-old (who is separated from her husband actor Satyadeep Mishra whom she married at the age of 21) has been in news for her alleged relationship with actor Randeep Hooda, Aditi claims she is single.
“I’m hectically single. I was very young when I got into a relationship. I’ve realised that you have to be complete in yourself before you can be a part of somebody else’s life,” she says. On the professional front, Aditi says she wants to do both content oriented and masala films. “Boss is a big, masala, large scale movie. Since I have done content cinema, doing a masala film helps me reach out to a wider audience. Apart from appreciation, it’s nice to have seetis and taalis and people dancing in the aisle and shouting. If I’m able to strike a balance between both kinds of films, I’ll feel lucky,” she says.
Tell the actor that many believe she is trying hard to change her innocent, sweet image by taking up bold, glamourous roles, and Aditi says, “If with my innocent face, I can play varied roles, why will I change anything? I don’t want to be a man-eating seductress. A kissing scene or wearing a bikini doesn’t change your image.”
And, how was the experience of wearing a bikini on-screen? “I’ve been wearing a bikini since I was four years old. It’s a garment I’m comfortable in. And the fact is that I trusted my director, Anthony (D’souza) in making me look good on-screen and not vulgar,” says Aditi, who doesn’t wish to reveal much about her upcoming projects.
