Two possible titles, “Wolverine: Weapon X” and “Weapon X”, have reportedly been registered by 20th Century Fox for the third and final “Wolverine” solo movie. The information has been shared in a tweet by a Twitter user by the name of XMenFilms, reported Aceshowbiz.

The Wolverine 3 will mark the final appearance of Hugh Jackman as Logan aka Wolverine. Directed by James Mangold, the film is based on the “Old Man Logan” comic book. Jackman will depict an older Logan as hinted by his full beard and flecks of gray in some set photos from the upcoming movie. The star also shared a picture of him buffing up for the role.

Set photos from the shoot made their way to internet. Jackman is seen shooting with a little girl whom some are speculating to be Laura Kinney (X-23). She is a female clone of Wolverine. Like Wolverine, X-23 has a regenerative healing factor, superhuman strength, senses, speed, and reflexes. She also has retractable adamantium-coated bone claws in her hands and feet. In 2015, the character succeeded her “father” in adopting the name and costume of Wolverine in the series, All-New Wolverine.

Based on a screenplay written by Michael Green and David James Kelly, the story will be set in the future, where supervillains have taken control over the world. The film is being produced by Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg and Hutch Parker.

Jackman will star alongside Patrick Stewart, who reprises his role as Charles Xavier a.k.a Professor X , in the upcoming film. The film also stars Boyd Holbrook, Richard E Grant, Stephen Merchant and Elise Neal. The final Wolverine solo movie is scheduled for a US release on March 3, 2017.
