After a small role in The Amazing Spider-Man, actor Irrfan Khan might now be seen in the sequel of the Hollywood film too. According to sources, Khan is expected to make a comeback in the sequel. “We are in talks, but it’s too early to comment. The movie has not even been formally announced,” he said. “I like the film. I am really happy for the actors,” he added.
Although a great portion of his scenes from the movie were chopped off, Khan has no regrets. “I was not too expectant of The Amazing Spider-Man. My sequences would have costed them a huge amount, so my disappointment doesn’t matter at all”, he told us at the Osian’s Cine Fan film festival on Sunday, where his latest Bollywood film Paan Singh Tomar was screened. “The audience is looking for fresh stories and subjects. They have evolved. That’s why Paan was more appreciated in metro cities than the villages,” he said.
As for his upcoming projects, the first promo of Khan’s most anticipated 3D project — Life of Pi, does not feature him at all. So was it disappointing? “No, not all! The movie is centred around the boy and hence only he is seen in the promo. There is a lot more to come,” he said. Khan will be seen with actor Tabu in the film, directed by Ang Lee, which will release on November 21. “It’s an exceptional and different film. It is a doubly difficult movie, as Lee is doing a 3D film for the first time and it’s an exceptional book as well,” he said.
Rubbishing rumours that he prefers Hollywood over Bollywood, he says, “I have no plans of shifting base. I am happy here. Hollywood needs to explore the Indian market, Bollywood is doing good in itself," he said.
