Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra has earned himself the praise of Hollywood veterans James Cameron and Alfonso Cuaron, by becoming the first Indian filmmaker to write, produce and direct a mainstream Hollywood film.

The film,

Broken Horses

, which is set to release next year, was screened for the two filmmakers recently. “Broken Horses is an artistic triumph. Beautifully written, acted and imaged, this film wraps slowly around you like a king snake and squeezes,” said Cameron, the director of Avatar (2009).

While Cuaron said he was overwhelmed by the film. “Broken Horses overwhelmed me. The greatness of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s films comes from the fact that all his characters are driven by love.”

The film has an international star cast, including Full Metal Jacket (1987) star Vincent D’Onofrio, Star Trek (2009) actor Anton Yelchin, Chris Marquette and Maria Valverde.
