Filmmaker James Wan is returning to The Conjuring to direct its second instalment. According to Variety, the director has signed a first-look deal with New Line. The release date of the movie - which originally starred Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson - was originally set for October 2015 but was recently pushed back to 2016.
The Conjuring proved a hit in 2013, raking in $318 million worldwide.
Prequel Annabelle was released earlier this month, concerning the origins of the creepy doll featured in the original film.
