The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence will join Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science President Tom Sherak to announce the much-awaited nominations for this year's Oscar awards.
Sherak and Lawrence will unveil the nominations in 10 of the 24 categories at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills on January 24, the Academy said in a statement. Nominations information for all categories will be distributed simultaneously to news media in attendance and via the Internet on the official Academy Awards website.
Lawrence was nominated for her gritty performance in Winter's Bone last year for the 83rd Academy awards. The 21-year-old star has since filmed one of the most anticipated movies of 2012, The Hunger Games, where she plays Katniss Everdeen, a young girl forced to fight to the death in a televised gladiatorial combat.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2011 will be presented on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the Kodak Theatre with host Billy Crystal presiding.
