Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams is planning to kill the character Jar Jar Binks in the film.
The 48-year-old director has said that he will make it clear in the movie that the Gungan from the prequel-trilogy would no longer be making a comeback in future Star War films, the Guardian reported.
The alien from planet Naboo was a prominent character in the 1999 movie The Phantom Menace and also featured in the movies Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005).
Though the character was introduced to add humour to the films, it has been widely considered one of the most hated characters in cinematic history.
Abrams said that he might just leave the bones of Jar Jar Binks in a desert in the flick.
The movie, which would be the first of trilogy, is slated for a December release and is expected to be the highest grosser at the box office this year.
