British director Joe Wright could soon unleash his creativity in a biopic about the most famous escape artist in history.
Joe Wright (Anna Karenina) is currently in talks with Lionsgate studios to direct The Secret Life of Houdini, according to The Los Angeles Times.
The project was launched in 2009 and will be based on the book by William Kalush and Larry Sloman that delved into Houdini's involvement with American and British secret services during World War II and his crusade against the spiritualist movement. The latter endeavor might have led to the public figure's death.
There's another Houdini flick in the pipeline, The Houdini Box, although the director who was once tied to it, Gary Ross (The Hunger Games), has pulled out.
