Bipasha Basu has just returned from London after wrapping up the remaining schedule of Roland Joffe’s Singularity. And now the actor is looking forward to watching the film in its entirety. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker of City Of Joy fame will travel to India again in July for the same.
“Roland (Joffe) will be back in India next month to show me (and others) the entire film. I have watched it in parts and I’m happy with my work in it. It has turned out amazingly well. Plus, the entire experience has been wonderful,” says Bipasha, who plays a Marathi warrior called Tulaja Naik in the film that also stars Bollywood actors Abhay Deol and Atul Kulkrani, besides Hollywood actor Neve Campbell.
Adding that the makers are looking at a “big studio release,” Bips also says that the epic adventure film is likely to be screened at the Venice Film Festival this year. “Otherwise too, it’s going to be a worldwide release. I don’t know the release plans, but it should be out by the end of the year,” says the actor, admitting that the film took a long time to be made. “Yes, it took some time as we went through a financial crisis. But the fact that it has come together now proves that things are going to be really good,” adds Bips, who admits that she had a great time shooting with her Hollywood co-star Josh Hartnett.
“We always keep in touch. It didn’t feel like I hadn’t met him for a few months because we connect instantly. He and I started off as good co-stars but now we have a very deep bond. It’s one of those rare equations — where we don’t have to stay in touch every day. But we are very close,” explains Bipasha.
