Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales may still be two years away but Johnny Depp's irepressible Captain Jack Sparrow is back at work.
“Captain Jack is back and we’re not letting him go,” producer Jerry Bruckheimer tweeted Tuesday with the first picture from the film. As if to prove the producer's words, Depp’s character looks worried as he’s tied up by thick ropes and flanked by two menacing pirates in the first photo from the film.
Depp is wearing his trademark Pirates costume, long hair, beads, bandana and a scraggly beard.
Production of the film was halted when Depp injured his hand during shooting in March and had to return home for a surgery. By the looks of the photo, it appears the actor is back at work in Australia.

The film also stars Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush and Javier Bardem, who makes his Pirates debut as Captain Salazar. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is slated to hit theaters July 7, 2017.
Depp was pictured holding hands with wife Amber Heard earlier as he reached Brisbane airport. The recently married couple has been besieged by rumours of marital discord over 28-year-old Heard's friendship with her female photographer friend Io Tillet Wright. Heard is reportedly bisexual.
A source said, "(Johnny) is on a plane going to Australia, and Amber Heard is with him. They're together now that he's completed treatment for his hand."
