Actor Hayden Panettiere lends her voice to Kate, the lead character in 3D animation film Alpha & Omega. Releasing on February 4, the film revolves around the adventurous journey of Kate and Humphrey, two funnily distinct wolves who are trying to get home after being taken away by park rangers.
What is this film all about?
Alpha & Omega is basically about this pack of wolves. The alphas are the leaders of the pack. My character is an alpha and her name is Kate. Omegas are the opposite which is the other character Humphrey. He’s funny and goofy and doesn’t have the same kind of responsibilities as Alphas do. It’s basically a love story about two people who are opposites and are told that they are not supposed to be together. And opposites sometimes attract! They fall in love and go on this big adventure.
What attracted you to this role?
Well, Kate is a really fun character and I love animation films. They are are completely different experience and it's a lot of fun!
How was it working with Justin Long?
Justin plays the role of Humphrey and it is a really funny character. As I said he’s the opposite of Kate who is responsible and strong. He doesn’t have those responsibilities and he can goof around with his friends. Justin is perfect for this role becau-se he is totally goofy and gels with the character.
Finally, how was the experience of working on an animation film?
It’s a total collaboration. The directors and I would just go back and forth and goof around. A lot of the times you get to experiment more and be a little more out there than you would be when you’re on camera. It’s all about trying different things and making them goofier! It’s a blast and a lot of fun.
