Pop singer Katy Perry says she is hoping that including the highs and lows of her life in her new documentary will help others cope with their own relationship woes. The 27-year-old, who plans to include her split with husband Russell Brand in the film, Katy Perry: Part of Me, said she wants people to take motivation from their problems, reported Access Hollywood.
“I didn’t get too detailed about the specifics because I believe that that’s only supposed to be between the two people that are in it. I just wanted to encourage people to let them know that it’s okay if they have problems. It’s okay if they’re going through a situation, they don’t have to lay down and die,” Perry said.
The Fireworks hitmaker split from Brand after 14 months of marriage. “When I decide to do something, I do it wholeheartedly. I strive to connect with the truth, with everything I do, especially artistically and creatively. And if it’s an extension of my music — which this film is — it’s all about how I got here and how I wanted people to hear my songs. I do it honestly,” she added. Katy Perry: Part of Me hits theatres on July 5.
