Bieber criticised for his Anne Frank comment
Amsterdam: Justin Bieber wrote an entry into a guestbook at the Anne Frank House museum in Amsterdam, saying he hoped the Jewish teenager who died in a Nazi concentration camp “would have been a Belieber” — or fan of his — if history were different.

The message triggered a flood of comments on the museum’s Facebook page on Sunday, with many criticising the 19-year-old Canadian pop star for writing something they perceive to be insensitive. Calls made and emails sent to Bieber’s publicist and agent in Los Angeles weren’t immediately returned. Museum spokeswoman Maatje Mostart confirmed that Bieber visited Friday evening. AP

Angelina Jolie flies Indian curry to Brad Pitt in LA
London: Hollywood star Angelina Jolie reportedly had a special consignment of Indian delicacies like lamb bhuna, chicken korma and chicken tikka made for her to fly home to fiance Brad Pitt. The actress was on an official trip for the G8 summit here and she arranged for the three special dishes picked up from Pitt’s favourite curry house in Surrey, reported Sun online. “Brad is back and has been longing for a decent curry. He really misses their Indian takeaway nights,” said a source. PTI

Antarctic summer ice melting ten times faster
London: The summer ice melt in parts of Antarctica is at its highest level in 1,000 years, Australian and British researchers said on Monday, adding new evidence of the impact of global warming. Researchers found data taken from an ice core also shows the summer ice melt has been 10 times more intense over the past 50 years compared with 600 years ago. “It’s evident that the environment is changing in this part of Antarctica,” researcher Nerilie Abram said. The study was published in the Nature Geoscience journal. Reuters

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne finally ‘separated’
London: Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have reportedly been living apart for past three weeks, raising fears about the couple’s 31-year-old marriage.

According to reports, the couple have been spotted without their wedding bands and have ‘made no effort’ to see each other after a bust-up over cash problems and an unpaid tax bill.

They moved out of their home in Beverly Hills, California — which is up for sale — while it was being renovated, but did not move into a temporary home together. ANI
